Bike Commuting

Bikes play an important role in transportation for countless Americans nationwide. PeopleForBikes works to support and advocate for legislation and policies that promote and incentivize alternative transportation, namely bike commuting. We support the Bicycle Commuter Act, passed by the U.S. House of Representatives in July 2020, that would reinstate commuter benefits for biking to work that were suspended in 2017. The new benefit would offer commuters up to $54/month (adjustable for inflation) in pre-tax benefits for biking, including electric bicycle costs and using bikeshare.
